8th December 2025 – Hartog Hutton is pleased to announce the handing over of five homes from its Symonds Walk development, to Havebury Homes, as part of its commitment to providing affordable housing for the local community.
Comprising a mix of two bungalows, one detached and two semi-detached houses, each home is built to the same Hartog Hutton high standard. Energy efficiency is a key part of the design to ensure the buildings are highly economical to run. The homes also include an electric charging port and solar panels.
The village of Badwell Ash was a popular choice, thanks to its location within 12 miles of Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket & Diss, and just 3.5 miles from Elmswell. The local businesses include a pub, village shop and fish & chip shop, which will benefit from the additional custom.

Havebury Project Manager, Stacey Robinson, says, “We’re really pleased to have worked with Hartog Hutton to deliver these much-needed affordable homes in Badwell Ash, and it’s great to see that some residents will be able to enjoy Christmas in their new homes.”
Symonds Walk in Badwell Ash is a stunning edge of village site, comprising nine high specification houses and five bungalows. Small-scale developments are proving popular with local residents, landowners and buyers alike. They retain the character of the area, whilst bringing in trade to the local businesses, without putting too much pressure on infrastructure.
“We’re delighted to have done the first of what we hope to be many deals with Havebury Homes,” commented Malcolm Payne, director at Hartog Hutton. “It marks the turning point in a development’s progress when we hand over the affordable housing. With residents moving into five out of fourteen houses, the community starts to come to life.”
Hartog Hutton is also busy working on small housing developments in Charsfield near Wickham Market and Barton in Cambridgeshire with other sites in Suffolk in the pipeline for the New Year.
